I need to keep a training diary and I have no clue?

I need to keep a training diary and I have no clue as how to start one

Thompson

I would advise you just to make a note of what you plan to do each session and then afterwards make a note of what you actually did and why things were altered, if you changed from your original plan.

You should have a year long plan of what you intend to cover with your players which may include such areas as:

Core skills to be covered:

Individual Skills

  • Handling Contact and ball retention
  • Support/offloading in a tackle
  • Tackling

Unit Skills Scrum:

  • Organisation,
  • Calling structure,
  • Engagement sequence
  • Binding,
  • feet position, etc. etc

Lineout:

  • Basic calling structure,
  • 2 offensive options
  • 1 defensive option
  • Organise how to contest the opposition ball

Ruck:

  • Clearing players at the ruck/tackle
  • Setting up ruck ball

Maul:

  • Organise a maul, mainly from a lineout
  • Defending a maul

Back Row moves:

  • 3 defensive
  • 3 offensive

Kick off receptions/options

  • Shallow 22

Deep Strike moves:

  • No more than 5 effective strike moves by first game

Kicking options:

  • Organise a defensive kicking option either from 1st or 2nd phase

I hope this helps
